“Deloitte is one of the UK’s largest student recruiters, with apprenticeships now making up a significant proportion of our annual student intake each year. We also offer a number of retraining programmes open to all ages. We partner with further education providers to create training and development opportunities for people looking to re-enter the workforce or retrain to develop new skills to enable them to access new careers and improve their employment opportunities in the future. One of the nationwide return to work opportunities includes our ‘New Beginnings’ partnership with Cardiff and Vale College, which offers free training programmes for adults.

“Strengthening the role and voice of employers and business groups in the post-16 education system should ensure that people develop essential skills matched to the needs of employers. This will open up a broad range of opportunities for people to access exciting and rewarding careers and support the companies and sectors that will help drive future UK economic growth.

“The measures announced today will also support the training and life-long learning we see as critical to the future of work. They will enable the UK workforce to remain agile to the ever changing skills requirements of employers in the future.”
