Live Updates: India Reports Record 4,187 Coronavirus-Linked Fatalities Within Past Day

The global death toll from the coronavirus infection has topped 3.2 million, with over 156 million cases detected worldwide, according to Baltimore, Maryland’s Johns Hopkins University, which tracks and compiles data from national and local authorities, the media and other sources.

Currently, among the most affected nations are the US (32.6 million infected, 580,000 deaths), India (21.4 million cases, 234,000 fatalities), and Brazil (15 million cases and a death toll of over 419,000).

The World Health Organisation has endorsed the Sinopharm coronavirus vaccine for emergency use. With China’s vaccine added to the list, there are now six shots with emergency use listing.
