P&O Ferrymasters launches multimodal service from Italy to Norway

Providing more options to transport time sensitive and valuable goods

P&O Ferrymasters has launched a new multimodal service from Italy to Norway, further expanding its leading pan-European network of logistics services for its customers. Businesses now have more options to transport their time sensitive and valuable goods from the Mediterranean to Scandinavia.

The new multimodal service includes rail links between the main rail terminals in northern Italy and the three key ports Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Moerdijk in the Netherlands. Goods are then shipped by sea from the Netherlands to three key ports in the west of Norway, Tananger, Bergen and Ålesund. Other ports can be used to minimise road journeys in Norway, saving time and reducing carbon emissions.

P&O Ferrymasters is offering a flexible range of solutions to fit the needs of its customers in moving their valuable and time sensitive goods quickly and with minimal environmental impact. From Italy to the Netherlands, goods can be transported by rail or road using 45-foot PW containers, swap body units or tilt trailers, using full truckload (FTL), full container load (FCL) and less-than-truckload (LTL) transport options.

Any customer importing food, wine, chemicals or construction materials into Norway from southern Europe can take advantage of this new cost-effective service. Customers can also move their heavy and oversized cargo using P&O Ferrymasters’ specialist Project Cargo service, no matter how big, heavy or complex their goods are.
