A Barnet-based site manager has been recognised as one of the best in London after winning a second award for his dedication to quality housebuilding.

Dean Chinsky, who oversees work our Oakleigh Grove development in Whetstone, has been named as a Regional Award winner in the National House-Building Council (NHBC) Pride in the Job Quality Award scheme.

Dean is just one of two Regional Award winners in London, and was honoured in the ‘Large Builder’ category during an online ceremony on Friday 6th November. This is the second year running that Dean has won the Regional Award.

Two of Dean’s colleagues in the North Thames business unit were also honoured this month, receiving Seal of Excellence awards. They are Anthony Butler, who works at Oaklands Grange in St Albans, and Hussien Fray, who works at Aston Reach in Aylesbury.

The Pride in the Job awards recognise an individual’s dedication to building high-quality homes and are presented following a rigorous judging process by NHBC inspectors. This includes assessing the developments throughout the year, giving homebuyers the assurance that our developments provide top-quality homes and excellent customer service.

Dean is now in contention for the Pride in the Job Supreme Award, which will be announced during a gala final in early 2021.

Dean said: “Winning the first stage Quality Award is a huge achievement, but going further in the competition and winning the regional award for the second year running is unbelievable. It’s a testament to all involved in the project and I am very proud of what we have achieved.”

Ben Smith, Production Director at Taylor Wimpey North Thames, said: “For Dean to win one the the NHBC’s highest accolades is a fantastic achievement, and to win it two years in a row is hugely impressive. His team at Oakleigh Grove works incredibly hard and they all take great pride in ensuring that the homes we build are completed to the highest possible standards.

“Maintaining the highest levels of quality and customer service is a key commitment for Taylor Wimpey, and Dean’s award is recognition of the work that all of our teams put in to achieve this aim. We will all be rooting for him at the Supreme Award final next year.”

NHBC Regional Director Mehban Chowdery said: “Pride in the Job has been pivotal in improving the quality of new homes for decades and it’s fantastic to be able to celebrate its 40th anniversary. Despite the numerous challenges the industry has faced in recent times due to the pandemic, the very best site managers of 2020 have kept their focus on delivering high quality new homes for their customers.

“A site manager’s role can at times be one of the most challenging in house building and their constant drive for excellence is very much at the heart of the competition. Receiving a Seal of Excellence Award is a great achievement for any site manager and a Regional Award even more so, as it places them right at the top of their profession. It’s no surprise that Pride in the Job winning sites have higher levels of customer satisfaction as these homes are without doubt among the best the UK has to offer.”
