At Home with Debenhams’ Beauty Experts
DEBENHAMS LAUNCHES VIRTUAL BEAUTY CONSULTATIONS PARTNERING WITH MAJOR BEAUTY BRANDS TO OFFER BESPOKE ADVICE AND LIVE MASTERCLASSES
Debenhams has opened a Virtual Beauty Room so that its millions of beauty customers will now have access to expert advice even while its stores in England are temporarily closed in line with government guidelines. From Smokey-eye tutorials to specialist skincare advice, customers are invited to virtual consultations with their favourite beauty brands from the comfort of their sofa.
Working in partnership with a collection of premium beauty brands, Debenhams offers two new exciting initiatives. The first allows customers to book one-to-one virtual consultations on debenhams.com with leading skincare brand Shiseido and make up brands Givenchy and Bare Minerals. All 30-minute consultations are bespoke to the individual customer and focus on answering every beauty need. Debenhams will look to expand the number of brands offering this service in the coming months.
The second initiative utilises Debenhams’ social media platforms with social masterclasses taking place weekly on Facebook and Instagram featuring beauty experts sharing tips, tricks and expert techniques. This month, among others, we have Christmas gifting with Clarins and a fragrance masterclass with YSL.
Debenhams is launching this service in response to the changes in our customer needs – many customers are feeding back that they are missing their usual interactions with the highly knowledgeable beauty teams across the country whilst they have been unable to visit or limited in their trips to Debenhams stores. The Debenhams virtual beauty room allows Debenhams to offer customers expert beauty knowledge in the comfort of their homes, along with an easy way to access social content from one place on the website.
Steven Cook, Debenhams’ Co-CEO & MD said, “During these challenging times, health, beauty and wellbeing is more important than ever before. We wanted to ensure that our customers could still have access to our beauty experts to support them with all their beauty needs without having to leave home. That’s why we have introduced the virtual beauty room and we are delighted to be able to deliver free of charge consultations and masterclasses from some of the very best beauty houses across the globe.”
Debenhams continues to lead the way with unique beauty offers and services. TRY.LOVE.KEEP! offers customers the opportunity to test products before committing to a full size purchase. Items including Estee Lauders Advanced Night Repair and a selection of Marc Jacobs perfumes will be delivered with a free matching sample. If a customer decides it’s not right, they can return it within 28 days for a full refund. This has already proved extremely successful since launching in September 2020.
The Debenhams Beauty Club Card also continues to go from strength to strength with 185,000 additional signs ups in 2020 to date and the introduction of deluxe sampling alongside triple points offers. The Beauty Club Community launched on Facebook earlier this year and continues to be a huge hit with our most loyal beauty club members who regularly talk and share products, tips and advice. Debenhams posts exclusive competitions, giveaways and expert tutorials which continue to keep the audience highly engaged and supportive of the firm favourite beauty destination on the high street.
