Minister of Health says how many Covid-19 vaccine doses Ukraine receives in April and May

The Minister of Healthcare Maksym Stepanov informed about the schedule of deliveries of the Covid-19 vaccine to Ukraine that is planned till the end of the current and for the next month. He discussed it in his interview on the Details of the Week program on the Inter TV channel.

“We should have received 3,9 million doses of vaccines today from the signed and paid contacts, and this is only under our direct contracts. Add to this the COVAX initiative, which was supposed to provide the vaccine from mid-February, we would have at least 5,5 million of the vaccine doses in Ukraine,” Stepanov said.

According to him, the Ukraine vaccination plan will be augmented depending on the exact dates of supplying vaccines and new contracts.

Stepanov said that Ukraine has already received confirmation for the supply of another 500,000 doses of the vaccine from Sinovac Biotech. This batch will arrive in the country by April 30, and the remaining 1 million doses – in May. In addition, the COVAX program confirmed the delivery of 1.4 million doses in May. 473,000 of these doses are the Pfizer vaccine.

As it was reported earlier, Chief Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko said Ukraine is supposed to get 1.4 million doses of the anti-coronavirus vaccine developed by AstraZeneca company by the end of May.
