22 new cases of Covid-19 found overnight, 37 new recoveries – The Malta Independent

22 new cases of Covid-19 were found overnight, along with 37 new recoveries, health authorities said on Wednesday in their daily update.

The new figures mean that the number of active cases has once again decreased, this time to 428.

It is the ninth day in a row that the number of recoveries has exceeded the number of new cases.

2,067 swab tests were carried out in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of swab tests up to 194,576.


Authorities said that today’s cases are still being investigated, but gave details about Tuesday’s new cases.

Out of the 26 cases found then, six were family members of previously known cases, three were work colleagues of positive cases, one was a contact from a social gathering, one was a direct contact of a positive case, and one was imported.

Malta has now had 1,931 cases of Covid-19.  Out of those, 1,490 have recovered and 13 have died.
