The United Kingdom’s (UK) Ministry of Defence (MOD) recently awarded a three-year contract to Leidos Innovations UK Ltd for the purchase of eSMART licence renewals.
“Leidos is proud to deliver the ESMART software platform for the Ministry of Defence,” said David Barnes, Leidos eSMART Product Manager. ”This integrated environment ensures tactical data link solutions are captured in a structured and detailed manner with reference to known standards, to support MOD’s important mission.”
This process has been adopted and mandated by both the UK MOD and the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD), and has become the de facto tactical data interoperability process for NATO Allies.
Leidos ESMART software provides the framework to manage a “through life” approach to achieving interoperability within a military system-of-systems. It saves time and effort in the process to define, verify and validate the requirements for new or legacy platform implementations.
By leveraging these tools, the UK MOD and its NATO allies have enabled mutual interoperability and compatibility to accelerate their mission.
