Seattle, WASHINGTON — April 24, 2017 — Anker, a consumer electronics firm, released today the PowerCore+ 26800 Power Delivery, the most compatible external battery with Power Delivery technology. This battery will be able to charge the Nintendo Switch in portable mode, Apple’s iPad Pro, and a wide variety of USB-C Power Delivery-enabled devices at full speed. The PowerCore+ 26800 PD is available on Amazon.com for $99.99.
“Currently, many mobile device manufacturers are utilising different protocols within the overarching Power Delivery (PD) specification. This means that it becomes difficult to produce a single portable device that is compatible with all PD devices. This is smart from a business perspective because it forces consumers to purchase proprietary external batteries or chargers for each device they own,” explained Steven Yang, CEO of Anker. “We designed the PowerCore+ 26800 PD to be compatible with as many USB-C Power Delivery devices as possible, an overall solution if you will. People can charge their Nintendo Switch, Macbook, and smartphone on the go using the exact same external battery.”
The PowerCore+ 26800 PD has a capacity of 26800 mAh (96.48Wh) and it features a USB-C port, which is capable of dispensing up to 30W using the Power Delivery specification. The battery also has two USB-A ports able to deliver up to 5V / 3A per port. With Anker’s PowerIQ technology incorporated into all Anker power banks, this is perfect for charging smartphones and other devices with a smaller wattage requirement.
Dimensions: 180mm X 80mm X 24mm
Input: 27W through the USB-C port
USB-C Power Delivery Output: (5V / 3A ; 9V / 3A ; 15V / 2A ; 20V / 1.25A) USB-A: (5V/3A)
Capacity: 26800 mAh (96.48Wh)
As can be seen in the table below, extensive lab tests have been conducted on the PowerCore + 26800 PD’s compatibility with various USB-C PD Devices. The devices were timed when charging them from 0% to 100% with their original chargers, and then with the PowerCore+ 26800 PD and Anker’s PowerLine+ USB-C to C cable — without the C to C cable, Power Delivery charging is not possible. What was discovered was that the PowerCore+ 26800 PD was able to charge most devices at a comparable speed to the wall chargers included with the original purchases. In some cases, most notably the iPad Pro, charging time was reduced dramatically. It should be noted that this battery’s compatibility is not limited to devices listed in this table.

Alongside the PowerCore+ 26800 PD, Anker is launching a new Power Delivery wall charger, the PowerPort PD 30W, which features one USB-C port and engineered with retractable A/C pins. This PowerPort greatly speeds up the charging of the battery compared to non Power Delivery chargers. This new wall charger will be included with all purchases of the PowerCore+ 26800 PD on Amazon US.
“For just $99.99, our customers will receive both products, external battery and wall charger,” Yang continued. “With the power demands of portable computers, phones and now gaming devices steadily increasing, we aim to provide consumers with the ability to enjoy the convenience and pleasure that these devices bring no matter where they choose to use them.”
