March 12, 2020

ATLANTA, March 12, 2020 – Today, The Home Depot Foundation announced a commitment of up to $100,000 for tornado relief and rebuilding efforts in Tennessee.

The Home Depot Foundation and its Nashville-area associates are continuing to support local relief organizations with material donations and work alongside the Foundation’s national nonprofit partners including American Red Cross, Team Rubicon, Convoy of Hope, Operation Blessing and All Hands and Hearts to distribute emergency supplies and meals, remove debris and begin initial phases of community rebuilding.

“Our hearts and thoughts are with those affected by the devastating tornadoes that hit Tennessee last week,” said Shannon Gerber, executive director, The Home Depot Foundation. “This week, nearly 200 local Home Depot associates will donate their time and sweat equity to serve these communities in partnership with best-in-class relief organizations, and we hope our combined efforts help assure residents of our investment in long-term rebuilding.”

Today, Home Depot’s associate volunteer force, Team Depot, is working with Team Rubicon to restore the Echo Valley Pool and Recreation facility in Putnam County. The teams hope to restore the center and provide some respite for the communities’ families, said William “T.J.” Porter, operations support with Team Rubicon.
