The Troubadour Drive In has announced a season of five films to be shown throughout July 2020.
Pairing modern cinema with the nostalgia of the iconic American drive-in experience, the events will offer contact-free opportunities to catch cult classics and Hollywood greats on the big screen.
Promising live actors, classic cinema refreshments, and great entertainment, The Troubadour Drive In season will begin with Dirty Dancing on 4 July 2020, before offering screenings of The Terminator, La La Land, The Shawshank Redemption and The Adventures Of Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert.
Tickets will be scanned through the closed car window, with spaces set two metres apart at all times. The sound will be broadcast directly through the car stereo (details of which will be provided on the day), with refreshments available to order through a designated app and safely delivered by the drive-in assistants.
Restrooms will be available if needed, with the audience asked to respect the two-metre distance. These will be cleaned between every use.

Nobody puts Baby in the corner! Dirty Dancing follows Frances “Baby” Houseman (Jennifer Grey) as she falls for her dance instructor Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze) whilst on holiday in the Catskills.
22:40 – Bad Boys For Life (15)
Miami detectives Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) return to face off against mother-and-son drug lords who are wreaking vengeful havoc on the city.

19:30 – The Terminator (18)
Arnold Schwarzenegger stars as a time-travelling cyborg-assassin sent back to kill Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton). This cult 1984 film from James Cameron (Avatar, Titanic) kickstarted the long-running franchise and remains hugely influential in action movie circles.

Starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, this Academy Award-winning musical-drama from Damien Chazelle (Whiplash, The Eddy) follows the equally turbulent careers and relationship between a jazz musician and aspiring actress in Hollywood.

Based on Stephen King’s novella, The Shawshank Redemption stars Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman as prisoners who forge a close friendship while serving hard time in the titular US prison.

This 1994 comedy-drama from down under follows two drag queens (Hugo Weaving and Guy Pearce) and a transgender woman (Terence Stamp) on their off-kilter trip across Australia aboard their tour bus, Priscilla.
