The awards, now in their sixth consecutive year, recognise and celebrate the very best of the UK’s maritime industry and are the leading regional maritime awards in the UK.
The theme for the awards this year is ‘navigating new horizons’, which reflects the optimism of new global opportunities for the maritime industry.
A panel of 13 industry-leading judges came together to agree on the final list for each category. The list will now go out to an industry-wide vote in which the winners will be decided by the public.
Chief executive of Mersey Maritime, Chris Shirling-Rooke, said:
‘Our awards continue to go from strength to strength and are rightly viewed as amongst the greatest maritime awards in the UK, championing regional strengths and celebrating the true diversity of our incredible industry. The diversity of the companies and individuals that applied is testament to how the maritime industry is thriving here in the Liverpool City Region, being worth over £4.2 billion to the local economy and employing some 52,000 people. Selecting just 36 finalists wasn’t easy!
‘As the momentum builds to the awards evening on Friday 6 March at St George’s Hall, Liverpool, we look forward to giving a wider audience the opportunity to have their say on who should win each category when the voting platform is launched.’
Hill Dickinson has been a winner of three previous awards at the MMIAs, including Maritime Professional Services and Global Reach.
