Freeths has marked the one year anniversary of their presence in Bristol by moving into new, permanent office space at 101 Victoria Street to continue their successful growth in the city.
It was in April 2019 that Freeths launched its Bristol office and since then they have grown from a team of two into a team of 17 specialist lawyers providing a full range of legal services.
Daniel brings further expertise to Freeths’ well-respected Property Litigation team particularly in development, retail, public property and telecoms having acted for large public bodies, major retailers and housebuilders. He has a national reputation in dealing with the new Telecommunications Code having dealt with one of the key cases for 2019. Daniel is highly recommended in the Legal 500 and is described in client testimonial as “a great commercial mind and a great property litigator”.
Duncan specialises in complex real estate projects, particularly public/private collaborations, and has supported several high profile developments from Langarth Garden Village in Cornwall to the regeneration of Blackwall Reach and Ailsa Wharf in London. He is also a director of a property development company set up to deliver zero carbon homes and has advised on a variety of clean energy schemes including a pioneering wind energy project, which was nominated for a national award. Duncan is recognised in the Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners, being described as a ‘pragmatic and down to earth lawyer who sees the bigger picture and never loses sight of the details’.
Freeths’ Bristol office is headed up by Adam Watson, who was previously based at the firm’s Nottingham office. Adam commented: “There’s more to Freeths than just figures. We have an engrained entrepreneurial culture, which unlike most other law firms’ corporate culture, does not restrict our lawyers so they have more freedom to be adaptable and flexible when advising on legal issues. This allows them to think differently in order to deliver the results our clients’ want, which is why our recruitment strategy in Bristol has been very successful. With this team we are already supporting clients through this very challenging period and helping them explore the opportunities that are starting to arise.”
