Addleshaw Goddard advises HUB on next £100m BTR development of Wembley High Road

Addleshaw Goddard has advised HUB on its £100m (GDV) build-to-rent development of Wembley High Road, the developer’s second such scheme revitalising the area.

The deal, which sees HUB partnering with specialist investor Bridges Fund Management and Canadian real estate investment company Realstar, will create 256 new homes.

Wembley Link follows on from Chesterfield House, now operating as UNCLE Wembley, also built by HUB and Realstar. It will consist of two brick towers of one to three-bedroom homes – and extensive public gardens accessed from the public square created as part of the first development.

Together, the two developments connect Wembley Central with Wembley Stadium, redefining the importance of Wembley’s town centre. The main contractor, Henry Construction, has already been appointed, meaning work will begin immediately.

The AG team was led by real estate partner Christopher Cartwright and included managing associate Elly Chatfield, associate Katherine Watson (real estate), partner Peter Sayer and managing associate Chris Connors (tax), and partner Marnix Elsenaar and managing associate Sarah Hodge (planning and infrastructure consenting).

Creating the development has meant working closely with London Borough of Brent and the local community to ensure that Wembley Link complements and enhances the Wembley Opportunity Area and delivers on the vision for the Wembley Housing Zone.

Christopher Cartwright, partner in AG’s real estate team said: “This development shows what can be achieved with consistent investment in delivering high-quality residences in desirable locations. Together with UNCLE, this will significantly increase the number of houses available in the area, supporting local regeneration as well as providing much-needed homes for Londoners.

We are delighted to have been able to offer our help and expertise in making this collaboration a reality.
