Miso Group launches new delivery concept & rolls out Operation:Falafel

Miso Group, founders of London-based natural food eateries and juice bars, Maple & Co, and global concept Operation:Falafel, has announced the London launch of its new delivery concept, Maple Street Eats, with a UK rollout of Operation:Falafel imminent.

Canadian natural chef, Adria Wu (pictured) founded Maple & Co in London in 2015. Now operating six locations across the city, the brand has its roots firmly planted in seasonal produce and locally made grab & go dishes and health drinks, that cater to city dwellers and workers looking to ‘eat clean’ conveniently.

The team has launched to service West London and intends to to serve North, East and South London by the end of the year.

Wu teamed up with F&B investor, Dubai-based Tamer Bazzari, to form Miso Group in early 2020, as the market navigated Covid. Wu and her team used this time to step back and work strategically on their business model, focusing on tech innovation. Understanding the shift in the way consumers now behave and strategising how to better connect with their customers through leveraging new technology, has been key.

As a result, Miso Group further enhanced its portfolio, with the introduction of Dubai-born, global brand Operation:Falafel. Masters of Middle Eastern Food, Operation:Falafel is set to launch in the UK in 2021, balancing traditional old-street Arabic flavours with fresh tastes through an offering of shawerma pitas, kofta bowls, salads, flavoured hummus and much more.

Operation:Falafel’s first store in the UK will embrace new technology with orders collected in contactless lockers opened by QR code. Among the first of its kind, infrared technology is inbuilt into bacteria-free, 100% sanitary lockers, giving app users the freedom to stipulate a pick-up time slot where dishes will be placed inside moments before. Miso Group are targeting ten Operation:Falafel UK franchises by 2024 which will include a second full experience flagship store in central London.

Miso Group secured £1.6m investment in 2020 and Wu’s ambitions of an aspirational rollout of both Maple Street Eats and Operation:Falafel can now be realised.

Wu commented, “We are delighted to build on the success of maple&CO and the launch of Maple Street Eats enables us to better service the strong customer base we have grown over the last six years. The time is right to innovate and offer consumers convenient alternatives and we’re really excited to realise this with the UK launch of Operation:Falafel too.”
