No One Flies Alone

Craig Williams, President of Jordan Brand, on the Jordan Brand’s responsibility to support the next generation.

It all started in Chicago. With the love of the game. But it definitely didn’t end there. On the court, Michael united a city. Off the court, Air Jordan ignited a culture. That culture became the foundation of the Jordan Brand, and from there, the Jumpman family was born.

The Jumpman logo started as a representation of one man, but now it represents all of us. We’ve all seen what happens when the world unites. When we give what we have as individuals to achieve something bigger than ourselves. The past several months have shown us the power of our global community and a passion that transcends cultural and regional boundaries.

In that spirit, the mission of our Jordan Wings Program is to provide inspiration and access to help youth create a better future. Among the Jordan Brand’s core principles is strengthening the community through investment in youth. Michael’s parents instilled in him the value of education, and we are dedicated to helping young people worldwide reach their highest potential through access to education and resources. Make no mistake, we believe education is the foundation for true excellence.

Today, we are honored to award 32 students across North America scholarships to their chosen four-year university. They will join the 1,800 students we’ve funded during the past six years through the Wings Scholars program in Greater China and the United States. These students represent the promise, potential and optimism of the future. We refuse to be limited. We choose to believe in greatness and the potential impact of the next generation.

We believe the ball should bounce the same for everyone. By reducing barriers like cost of tuition, we can enable students to pursue their education without added distractions. But we also know the power of a good team. To this end, we provide each student with a host of resources throughout their collegiate studies including one-on-one mentorship and internship sourcing. Together, we will help the next generation fly.

By reducing barriers like cost of tuition, we can enable students to pursue their education without added distractions.

I’m proud of the legacy that we’ve created, but there’s still work to do. Accomplishments mean nothing without impact. We know our future can be brighter than our iconic past. We fly fearlessly together, defying disbelief on the court while inspiring youth to dream of excellence. We don’t believe in limitations. We are the Jordan family, and in this family, no one flies alone.
