In order to support the communities in which we build, we’ve teamed up with national residential care provider, Abbeyfield Care Homes. The partnership comes as part of our extended support to the care industry across the country following donations of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to a number of homes from our regional offices earlier in the year.
Our teams across the UK have been working hard to help out at Abbeyfield’s care homes, taking part in a range of activities. Charlie Waggett, a Director in our Major Developments group, was one of the first to volunteer his time to help out at Abbeyfield’s Pratt House in Amersham. Charlie, along with his son Sam, made sure that the home’s garden was celebration-ready in preparation for its socially distant summer events and spent time clearing the garden, cleaning the paving slabs and mowing the lawn.
Charlie said: “It was a pleasure to help out at Pratt House. As a business, we’ve been committed to supporting communities and vital services throughout the Coronavirus pandemic so when we teamed up with Abbeyfield and were encouraged to help in any way we can, it presented an opportunity for myself and Sam to lend a helping hand. While we weren’t able to interact personally with the residents, we saw many smiling faces at the windows, so hopefully this cheered everyone up in some way.”
