Morgan Sindall Construction retained as a tier one contractor by hub South West Scotland

Morgan Sindall Construction has retained its position as a Tier One contractor with hub South West Scotland, extending its successful relationship with the public-private development group which has a pipeline of more than £400 million of projects.

The main contractor was previously selected for the framework in 2016. Since then, in partnership with hub South West, Morgan Sindall Construction has designed and built a raft of innovative, sustainable and cost-effective projects for local authorities across the region.

Construction of projects to support Early Years learning – highlighted by the Scottish Government as key to driving up social mobility and supporting inclusive growth – has been a focus. The partnership is delivering extra capacity to support more than 1,000 additional Early Years places.

Morgan Sindall Construction and hub South West are also working together to design and build two new multi-use education and community campuses for South Ayrshire Council, valued at more than £64 million. Construction on both Prestwick Educational Campus and Maybole Community Campus is due to start within the next 12 months.

Stuart Parker, Morgan Sindall Construction managing director in Scotland, said: “Efficient and sustainable procurement, which elicits maximum social impact for communities, is rightly a focus for the public sector customers we work with.

We’re proud to extend our partnership with the organisation and looking forward to continuing to deliver the social infrastructure which communities depend on.”

Michael McBrearty, chief executive of hub South West, added: “As we look forward, hub South West will harness the opportunities developing high-quality social infrastructure provides to uniquely secure real social impact and value for money through procurement, locality of supply chain and driving sustainability through our development and delivery.

“Our ability to deliver these objectives is best served we believe, by working in partnership with the highest quality contracting business in the country.

“With £468 million of projects currently in development, hub South West is well equipped to sustain our pipeline, and to continue the delivery of top-quality infrastructure to our communities across south west Scotland.”
