Double the Fun! Roads & Bridges Selects Two Jacobs Projects for Top 10 Roads of 2020

While we’d be honored to have a single project among Roads & Bridge Top Roads list, we’re thrilled to snag two spots on this prestigious list. “The goal of the work we do every day is to the support safety, soundness and efficiency of infrastructure Americans count on,” explains Global Solutions Director for Highways Mike Falini. “The idea we – with our clients and partners – can earn recognition for great work and innovative solutions is a bonus.”

Let’s take a closer look two of the top 10 roads recognized in 2020:

No. 2 – PA Turnpike/I-95 Interchange (Stage 1)

This project, which began with environmental impact studies in 1992 and opened to traffic in 2018 saw the coming together of eight agencies to solve the discontinuity of I-95. The final piece of the U.S. National Highway System also includes the first cashless tolling point in Pennsylvania at the gateway from New Jersey, a new eastern terminus of the Pennsylvania Turnpike’s toll collection system, and the construction of twin 14 and 15 span viaducts totaling more than one mile combined. No. 6 – IH 94 North-South (NS) Corridor, Wisconsin

I-94 is a major freeway across the northern U.S. and is the main travel corridor between Milwaukee and Chicago.  Rebuilding this virtual corridor supports current and future economic growth throughout Wisconsin and beyond. Comprised of several individual projects each contracted and designed separately by multiple consultants, Jacobs led the design of the County Trunk Highway (CTH) E Interchange in Kenosha County and the Elm Road Interchange in Milwaukee County. To support major new business developments along the I-94 North-South corridor, learn more about Jacobs helped support the big infrastructure program needed for big business.
