UPDATE: Isaias upgraded to hurricane; waiver, price caps issued for Florida

Friday Update, 3 p.m. EDT

As Hurricane Isaias is forecasted to head towards the east coast of the U.S., Delta has issued a travel waiver for cities in Florida. In addition, Delta has extended its capped fares to include flights between 11 southeastern cities in Georgia, Florida and South Carolina.

Delta’s waivers include:

  • Florida Waiver: August 1-2, 2020
    • Daytona Beach, FL (DAB), Fort Lauderdale, FL (FLL), Jacksonville, FL (JAX), Melbourne, FL (MLB), Miami, FL (MIA), Orlando, FL (MCO), West Palm Beach, FL (PBI)
  • Caribbean Waiver: July 29-31, 2020
    • Providenciales, TC (PLS), Punta Cana, DR (PUJ), San Juan, PR (SJU), Santiago, DR (STI), Santo Domingo, DR (SDQ), St. Thomas, VI (STT)

These waivers allow customers with flexibility in their travel plans to make a one-time change to their itinerary without incurring a change fee.

Delta expands capped fares:

In addition to markets in the Caribbean, Delta extends its capped fares to southeastern cities: Miami, Fla. (MIA), Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (FLL), Melbourne, Fla. (MLB), Daytona Beach, Fla. (DAB), Jacksonville, FL (JAX), West Palm Beach, Fla. (PBI), Brunswick, Ga. (BQK), Savannah, Ga. (SAV), Charleston, S. Carolina (CHS), Myrtle Beach, S. Carolina (MYR) and Hilton Head Island, S. Carolina (HHH).

Delta’s meteorology team is keeping a close eye on the development of Hurricane Isaias that could impact travelers through six airports in the Caribbean: Providenciales, TC (PLS), Punta Cana, DR (PUJ), San Juan, PR (SJU), Santiago, DR (STI), Santo Domingo, DR (SDQ), St. Thomas, VI (STT)

To help customers, Delta is capping fares on flights in these markets and offering a travel waiver that allows those with flexibility in their travel plans to make a one-time change to their itinerary without incurring a change fee.

Customers are encouraged to check their flight status on Delta.com or the Fly Delta Mobile App. Customers can also get updates sent directly to their mobile device or by email.
