Sheena McGuinness, partner and head of renewables and cleantech at leading audit, tax and consulting firm RSM has won the Smart Energy Finance 2021 award for the second year running at this year’s virtual Women Powering Smart Energy award ceremony.
The event took place on Thursday 4 March and was organised by Women Powering Smart Energy, a networking and conference business focused on the renewables sector.
Other worthy winners included Carolina Escudero of Vattenfall in the engineering category, Amy Stray of Osborne Clarke in law, Shivali Mathur of BEIS in the BD and innovation category and Clementine Cowton of Octopus in the policy category.
The awards are the result of a 3-month consultation process with industry experts and public voting.
Sheena McGuinness said: ‘I’m delighted to have won this award once again. This is an exciting and growing sector which technology will continue to advance further. Last year we saw globally-dedicated, sustainable investments rise by 70 per cent and today, more than 125 countries and 60 per cent of the world’s leading companies are committed to a net zero economy.
‘I’m incredibly proud that RSM is involved in helping businesses, and the UK government, to reduce emissions. These are powerful and important changes that will, we hope, bring environmental, economic and societal benefits to communities around the world.’
Ali Sapsford, partner and head of Tax at RSM said: ‘It’s great to see Sheena’s hard work and dedication acknowledged yet again for her work in the renewables sector. This is an area of continued and growing importance across our client base and it’s fantastic for our team and our clients to see Sheena being recognised as a leading voice in this market.’
